Build on your interview skills
There are a number of pitfalls during job interviews, but I want to call out one of them as not only have I made this mistake in the past, but I am sure many others have fallen into the same trap.
Too many people talk about activities, actions, efforts; "then we formulated a strategy", "we launched a campaign "," we initiated a project ". Certainly exciting and important activities BUT you have to turn the story around.
You have to start with "We won the match 6-0……….and I think that we won primarily because we chose to launch a campaign against… ”.
Initiatives cost a lot of money and if it has not generated more revenue, then it can be a waste at worst. You cannot always create a linear link from effort to result, but you can make one Probability Consideration - "Primarily Won Because ...".
What are some of your great advice as you prepare for a job interview?
