Hi there, I have a dilemma.

As I am looking for my next career move in a more senior executive role, I have been approached by executive hiring agencies who are asking for an upfront payment to help me land a position. While I know a lot of them get compensated directly by employers, I am looking for more insights as to when one should sign up for such paid exec recruitment? Thanks Minoo

Hi Minoo, I recognize it's been a few months, so hopefully you've found your answer. If you are looking for an executive/career coach to help guide your search, that may rationalize some agreement but you are right that the typical practice is that executive search firms are paid by the employers either through a retained or contingency agreement.
