    Position summary

    test equipment (IM&TE) to ensure measurement accuracy. Also, will apply the principles of metrology in the area of; Electrical / Electronic, Thermodynamic, Dimensional, Physical, and Mechanical disciplines and associated sub-disciplines.

    • Reading and working to the indicated accuracy, specifications, and tolerances as detailed on appropriate calibration standards and standardized procedures.

    • Performing calibration troubleshooting or diagnoses, and performs corrective adjustments based on identified calibration problem.

    • Setting up, operating, and reading precision testing and measuring instruments to the instrument manufacturers or client's specifications for accuracy. Precision testing and measuring instruments include devices such as, but not limited to ammeters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, oscilloscopes, balances, power supplies, thermometers, viscometer, scales, tachometers, strobe lights, hygrometers, pressure / vacuum gauges, microscopes, torque meters, and chart recorders.

    • Keeping the work area neat and orderly contributes efforts toward the overall cleanliness of the shop.

    Your Skills and Expertise

    To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

    • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.

    • Minimum two (2) years calibration experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.

    • Minimum one (1) year calibration experience operating to ISO 17025, ISO 9001, or ANSI/CSL Z-540 standards in a private, public, government, or military environment.

    • Appropriate driver's license and pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.

    Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

    • Possess a 2-year degree or higher from an accredited university.

    • Two (2) years of calibration experience within the last five (5) years in a private, public, government, or military environment.

    • Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) training or equivalent formal technical training.

    • Experience with Met/Cal Procedure Writing and Met/Team Database Administration in a private, public, government, or military environment.

    • Strong oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple functions and organizations.

    This position will require: Working 1st Shift (7am to 3 pm)

    This position may require:

    • Weekend work
    • Working overtime
    • Working on holidays as needed
    • Frequent physical demands, including:
      • lifting up to 50 lbs.

    • The starting rate of pay for this position is $44.84. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
