Quality Technician

• Testing and dispositioning manufactured products as well as raw materials using a variety of analytical techniques

• Calibrating analytical instrumentation and other laboratory equipment

• Helping R&D teams by carrying out and evaluating new test methods

• Reporting quality data and collaborating with diverse teams onsite to act on the data

• Willingness to work a schedule that includes overnight shifts

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)

• Three (3) years of combined experience in laboratory, pilot plant, or manufacturing facility in a private, public, government, or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Expertise equivalent to an associate degree or higher in chemistry, physics, biology, or related fields

• One year of experience in a quality control laboratory setting, preferably in manufacturing

• Strong math and science skills

• Experience in systems for the reporting of data in laboratory settings

• Experience with the Microsoft 365 software platform, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams

Work location: Cottage Grove, MN

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic
