Senior Facilities Mechanical Engineer*

. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Providing design of mechanical systems including HVAC, building automation, industrial ventilation, process piping, plumbing systems and central utilities for 3M facilities and processes

• Collaborating with a cross-functional team to influence and develop scope in early stages of the project

• Developing and managing timelines and budgets for assigned projects

• Successfully interacting with multi-disciplinary teams including 3M plant personnel, consultants, suppliers and vendors

• Communicating effectively to project team, facility staff and project owners

• Ensuring application of applicable codes, standards and internal guidelines

• Overseeing and guiding the design work by consultants for assigned projects

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (completed and verified prior to start)

• Five (5) years experience in mechanical system design to support industrial facilities and processes in a private, public, government, or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• 7+ years experience in mechanical system design to support industrial facilities and processes including HVAC, building automation systems, process piping, plumbing, and utility systems

• Registered as a Professional Engineer

• Proficient in use of project management skills for developing timelines, budgets and coordination of activities

• Proficient communication and documentation skills

• Proficient at using electronic tools for design, documentation and communication

• Team player with the ability to contribute in a matrix environment

Travel: May include up to 20% Domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

The expected compensation range for this position is $115,607 - $141,298, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
