The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Tax Specialist you will be a point of contact for all tax related topics in the Gulf-Area, including as example United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. The role will be working closely with the business and other functions like e.g. Finance, Trade Compliance with a support of the Regional and Global Tax Team.

Here, you will make an impact by:

• Managing external tax service providers for the region

• Building and maintaining relationships with local tax authorities and external counsel

• Leading tax audits in the Region

• Ensuring compliance with tax legislation, including MDR

• Proactively identifying risks and opportunities, including credits & incentives

• Tax accounting (UTP recognition, tax reconciliations)

• Cash tax management and forecasting

• Playing active role in cross-functional projects related to as example SAP-deployment, M&A-projects, tax optimization or a Tax Control Framework in the defined Region

Your Skills and Expertise:

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Master's degree or equivalent in tax law or tax economics preferred.

• Recently certified tax professional, with about 3 years of experience in the Tax department of a BIG4 or a multinational enterprise

• English - business proficiency; Arabic language would be an asset

• Systems: MS Office 365, SAP, Power BI are a plus

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Good understanding of tax legislation in the region

• Practical knowledge of statutory accounting rules

• Familiarity with US GAAP, especially US tax accounting rules (FIN48) and deferred taxes

• Experience in managing tax audits on a broad range of topics

• Demonstrated business acumen and professionalism in a complex environment

• Results oriented approach, with a clear sense of priorities and direction

• Strategic view combined with hands on approach with the ability to convince key stakeholders when necessary

• Ability to balance between risk and benefits with uncompromising approach to ethics and values

• Strong communication, presentation and collaborative skills
