    Position summary

    ol, systems, networks, telecoms, and power engineering teams as well as gaining training within our QHSE, procurement, marketing, bids and proposals, etc teams will be available to the successful candidates. The make-up of the apprenticeship would be with one days further education per week delivered at CRC (or similar) and four days per week on the job training at the ABB facility in St.Neots. We would look at ultimately specialising the successful candidates in one of the above disciplines as well as offering related training within QHSE, Procurement, Marketing, Bids and proposals, etc.. to develop their all-round skillset.
    Your responsibilities

    • Process control engineering, systems engineering, network infrastructure design and implementation. Telecoms engineering and power engineering (LV and MV).

    • Performs basic survey work, standard computations, analysis, and basic design tasks.

    • Collects data and supports production of the engineering design.

    • Exercises judgment on limited details of work and on application of standard methods and prepares project documentation within their scope of deliverables.

    • Assists customers on technical issues, interacts with official contacts, contractors, and other staff within his/her scope of deliverables.

    • Assists communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.

    • Participates in workshops pertaining to engineering design, tools, and processes.

    • Learns from best practices / Lessons-Learned documentation across different projects and disciplines.

    • Uses standard processes and tools applicable to one's area of responsibility.

    • Reports process and tool inefficiencies, along with suggesting ideas for improvement. Risk and opportunity management

    • Supports technical risk assessments and implements resulting actions for one's projects.

    • Ensures Bill of Material (BOM) for the project meets contractual obligations.

    • Follows work plans and cost estimates provided by the project manager.

    • Ensures quality and timely implementation of projects within the targeted cost.

    • Collaborates with the Supply Chain function and the Project Manager(s) to meet the contractual obligations.

    • Coordinates with Manufacturing and Testing functions to ensure the technical solutions are appropriately manufactured/ staged and tested.

    • Updates the engineering deliverables as-built.

    • Coordinates with commissioning / service functions to ensure the designs are appropriately installed and commissioned and updates the engineering deliverables post installation and commissioning (if applicable as part of the contract).

    Your background

    • Further education in electrical, power or telecoms Engineering.

    • With a genuine interest in electrical & Electronic or Software engineering.

    • An interest and understanding of the energy transition industry..
