The preferred candidate is located in Europe with frequent travel to Austria, onboarding in CH and AT required. You will be mainly accountable for: • Strategy & Strategy Implementation - Creation, planning & implementing global division's strategy definition with leadership team and executing through the analysis and identification of markets, customer segments, competitor moves, offerings and past business performance. Managing strategic business initiatives (organic and inorganic) ensuring growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Produces action plans to deliver the agreed strategy and budgets. • Market Intelligence & Business Development - Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape. Use data to inform strategic decisions and identify potential growth areas. Identify and prioritize existing and new strategic segments and business opportunities based on analysis, globally defining strategy/business plans for prioritized ones, and coordinate the relevant teams. Develop short-term and long-term business plans that support sustainable growth. • M&A - Work closely with business management to identify and prioritize potential acquisition targets in line with division strategy. Collaborate with relevant business stakeholders and functions in driving acquisition projects. Conduct comprehensive due diligence to assess the strategic fit, financial performance, and risks associated with potential acquisition targets. • Performance Monitoring & EC Presentations - Set and track KPIs to measure the success of business development initiatives. Prepare high-impact reports & presentations and documentation for executive management meetings, up to the ABB Executive Committee and Board of Directors, facilitating informed decision-making at the highest levels of the organization. Communicate progress & insights. • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry influencers. Represent the company at networking events, conferences, and meetings. • People & Leadership - Ensures that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed.
