    This position reports to

    Senior Engineering Manager
    Your responsibilities

    • Planning and commissioning of automation solutions and process control technology using provided project specifications and/or existing software

    • Programming ABB PLC in IEC 61131-3 programming languages

    • Programming of process control systems on the basis of 800xA

    • Creation and adaptation of process visualizations in OT networks

    • Planning and programming interfaces to drive systems and customer systems

    • Carrying out preliminary tests of hardware and software as well as testing and commissioning software in-house and at the customer site

    • Training of customer personnel and documentation of project work

    • Assisting in the preparation of work plans and estimates for works, conducting risk and opportunity assessments during commissioning, reporting on potential risks and solutions relevant to your technical discipline

    • Solving complex technical problems both remotely and on-site at customer site in Germany and Europe

    • Supporting sales and project management with your technical expertise in detailed planning in discussions with customers, partners and service providers. Coordination with System Engineering and R&D department to find technical solutions and achieve improvements

    Your background

    • Experience in electrical engineering projects and commissioning in the field of automation and process control technology

    • Sound knowledge of engineering techniques, processes and tools, in particular experience with the IEC 61131(-3) standard

    • Basic knowledge of IP-based networks and Windows administration

    • Experience with projects in the metal and/or pulp and paper industry is desirable

    • Strong focus on safe working practices and compliance with all relevant workplace safety guidelines

    • A high degree of self-motivation, curiosity and the desire to familiarize yourself with new technologies

    • A collaborative, solution-oriented approach and good written and spoken communication skills in English and German

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering - Automation or equivalent/higher
