IS Technology Lead Architect (Network)

He/she assists and guides domain and solution architects by providing standards, roadmaps, high level designs and building blocks. He/she participates in communities of practice and other architectural bodies to ensure dissemination of best practices and facilitate professional development of domain and solution architects.

Your responsibilities

• Responsible for helping to maintain horizontal view of technology for the area of expertise across all businesses and domains to assure the realization of benefits from technology simplification, standarization and modernization.

• Executes on IT technology strategy defined by Corporate Office EA to ensure alignment with the organization's goals and objectives

• Defines the technical blueprints, reference architectures and standards

• Coordinate and facilitate the work of Domain and Solution architect to ensure integrity of enterprise architecture across whole organization

• Responsible for assisting IS Technology Lead architect in maintaining technology landscape in area of responsibility across entire ABB, ensuring technology fit through sanity checks

• Keeps knowledge up to date regarding new and emerging IS technology and IS industry practices, bringing learning into ABB; all within in the scope of the relevant technology platform.

• Coaches and guides Domain and Solution architects on the best practices and latest technology developments to ensure their continuous professional growth.

• Provides technology guidance to Domain, business and solution architects to facilitate professional growth

• Collaborates with Business, Domain and Solution architect in projects to ensure fit to the overall ABB technology landscape in the area of responsibility

• Evaluates and approves solutions that fulfill criteria defined in the heatmap (complexity, high impact, high cost)

• Develop and maintain technology roadmaps

• Develop and maintain Architecture standards, reference architectures and architecture building blocks in the area of responsibility

• Create High Level Designs in applicable technology areas

• Lead PoCs and Pilot implementations

• LeadContribute to RFQRFP process by providing, validating and evaluating requirements and evaluating vendor proposals

Your background

• Established professional with 10 or more years working in the related technology infrastructure implementation, network administration and support or engineering.

• Experience designing network solutions for Data Centers running Cisco Nexus 7K and ACI on Cisco Nexus 9K.

• In-depth knowledge of large WAN transport systems/services. Good understanding of BGP, OSPF and EIGRP including redistribution between protocols and policies that influence route selection. Being able to understand Cisco ASR and ISR router configurations.

• Proven experience with LAN/WAN/Security design & implementation; completing projects wing2wing from planning, design and implementation.

• Knowledge how to design network solutions for large campus networks with Cisco Catalyst switches including 9K family and 6800 models.

• Previous experience working with Checkpoint and Cisco firewalls in particular skillful enough to analyse firewall rules, NAT but also understand IPS technologies.

• Experience working with large IP address space. Able to provide solutions for overlapping IP subnets with different types of NAT

• Architect will need to provide designs around BIG IP F5 load balancers, Cloud Proxy solutions, Riverbed , VSS, HSRP, VoIP , DMVPN, SSL VPN/IPSec VPN and Wireless technologies.

• Experience working with SDN (SDA & SDWAN from Cisco and Velocloud), VOIP cloud solutions are a bonus.

• ITIL Foundation Level is a plus
