Primary Accountabilities
Prepares invoices and processes payments, refunds to and from vendors or insured customers. Reviews statements and reports and reconciles transactions as needed.
Prepares agent commission files and reconciles activities with carriers.
Prepares bank deposits.
Researches accounting-related questions and issues and resolves transactions.
Responds to escalated inquiries from agents and vendors regarding commissions, points, payments received, refunds on policies, outstanding invoices, premiums, endorsements, account statements, or other accounting issues.
Provides accounting support to premium finance arrangements.
May be required to complete other assignments or participate in projects based upon skills, achievements, or experience.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
Demonstrated experience and proficiency using PC software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
Solid knowledge and understanding of insurance, accounting, accounting systems, budget, or tax concepts.
Demonstrated experience in accounting support activities in an insurance, insurance brokerage or other financial services functions.
Basic knowledge and understanding of brokerage sales and commission structure, and brokerage vendors.
