    Position summary

    Primary Accountabilities

    • Prepares invoices and processes payments, refunds to and from vendors or insured customers. Reviews statements and reports and reconciles transactions as needed.

    • Prepares agent commission files and reconciles activities with carriers.

    • Prepares bank deposits.

    • Researches accounting-related questions and issues and resolves transactions.

    • Responds to escalated inquiries from agents and vendors regarding commissions, points, payments received, refunds on policies, outstanding invoices, premiums, endorsements, account statements, or other accounting issues.

    • Provides accounting support to premium finance arrangements.

    • May be required to complete other assignments or participate in projects based upon skills, achievements, or experience.

    Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

    • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.

    • Demonstrated experience and proficiency using PC software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook, Excel, etc.)

    • Solid knowledge and understanding of insurance, accounting, accounting systems, budget, or tax concepts.

    • Demonstrated experience in accounting support activities in an insurance, insurance brokerage or other financial services functions.

    • Basic knowledge and understanding of brokerage sales and commission structure, and brokerage vendors.
