    Position summary

    optimize and sustain the camera experience for both next-generation and existing products. As Camera Performance manager, you'll work closely with engineering teams to ensure great performance is a primary goal for new features, maintain and optimize user experience for existing devices, and collaborate with our automation and analytics teams to build tests that reflect real-world usage - all whilst managing a team of highly-motivated engineers who can both find the root cause of power & performance problems, and resolve them. You'll have the unique opportunity to collaborate with a broad set of technology partners, for example: our silicon group to influence future chip designs, the design group to evaluate the performance implications of UI choices, and camera hardware designers to understand thermal implications of future camera technologies, to name just a few.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Knowledge of OS, systems, and computer architecture

    • 3+ years leading a software engineering team

    • Expertise in software profiling techniques and tools (such as Xcode, valgrind, vmmap, Instruments, VTune, or Perfetto)

    • A passion for cross-functional work combined with the ability to co-ordinate the efforts of multiple teams

    • Experience in the analysis of complex data & metrics in order to inform data-driven decisions

    Preferred Qualifications

    • BS / MS / PhD in Computer Science or equivalent years of experience in related field

    • Prior experience of realtime audio/video processing pipeline development

    • Proficiency with the use of GPU & TPU hardware to accelerate image processing and AI/ML workloads

    • Past experience with power measurement and thermal analysis

    Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $198,300 and $342,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
