    Position summary

    trategies, coordinating global advocacy activities and directly advocating on standards and IP policy related topics with government agencies and in standards setting organization policy groups and counseling clients on standards-related matters. As part of Apple's Standards team, you will collaborate with team members and Apple internal stakeholders in Cupertino, Europe, Asia and other locations. Travel will be required.     Description

    You will develop global advocacy strategies, coordinate global standards advocacy activities and advocate directly with government agencies and standards setting organizations on standards and IP policy related topics. Develop position papers and talking points aimed at shaping the direction and content of potential initiatives. Participate in standards setting organization governance committees and IP policy working groups. Counsel clients on standards and IP policy related legal matters. Assess and analyze relevant rules and regulations across a broad range of issues that may have an impact on Apple's business. Report to management and seek feedback on all relevant initiatives. Work cross functionally with a number of internal partners, including legal, government affairs and relevant business teams.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 5+ years of legal or government policy experience in an international company, law firm, government agency or international organization.

    • Strong insight and deep knowledge in the operation and intellectual property policies of standards bodies

    • Excellent drafting, organizational, advocacy and communication skills: ability to speak-up, convince and confront ideas to get to the right decision.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Litigation, licensing, patent or public policy advocacy experience related to standards or intellectual property matters is a plus.

    • Direct experience in the development and/or revision of standards' bodies' intellectual property policies or agreements.

    • Business oriented and technology savvy with an ability for problem-solving.

    • Strong interpersonal skills; able to successfully build strong client relationships.

    • Thrives at collaborating within a team and at working cross-functionally.

    • Excels in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Good judgment and capacity to collect and review all relevant data and information to advise the business in Apple's best interest.

    • Highly motivated with an excellent work ethic; capable of being a self-starter.

    • Comfortable learning new legal areas and skills.

    Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $207,700 and $311,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
