Software Automation Engineer - Media Apps - Apple Vision Pro

pple's Vision Products Group is seeking a Tools and Automation Engineer to help expand and innovate our testing capabilities for visionOS Camera and Photos features. You'll design and implement automated test solutions that translate functional test scenarios into robust, scalable tests-enabling our QA team to focus on exploratory testing, edge cases, and new feature validation. Your work will directly impact the quality of experiences enjoyed by millions of Apple users worldwide.

Description

In this role, you will design and build automated test solutions that expand our test coverage and drive quality improvements for visionOS Camera and Photos features. You'll collaborate closely with Software Development & QA engineers and functional QA teams to understand testing challenges, architect creative solutions, and implement comprehensive test coverage. You'll thrive in a dynamic environment where you can innovate and continuously improve our testing methodologies. Your work will span translating functional test scenarios into Swift-based tests using XCTest, building creative testing solutions and tools, maintaining and enhancing our automation infrastructure, and driving continuous improvement in our testing processes.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Python for test automation, tooling, or scripting

Knowledge of test automation best practices and design patterns

Experience testing consumer electronics or mobile applications

Familiarity with AR/VR products or spatial computing environments

Minimum Qualifications

3+ years of industry experience in software engineering, QA automation, or related roles; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience

Proficiency in Swift programming language and object-oriented design principles

Hands-on experience with Xcode, XCTest, and XCUITest for building automated tests

Proven ability to design and implement automated test cases for user-facing applications

Experience translating manual test cases or requirements into automated test scenarios

Ability to proactively debug and troubleshoot test failures independently and collaboratively

Highly organized with strong planning skills to estimate, update, and communicate progress

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $141,800 and $258,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
