Responsibilities
Develop and deploy software that automates network provisioning across thousands of routers and switches, reducing configuration time from hours to seconds.
Analyze network telemetry data to identify patterns, predict failures before they happen, and optimize routing decisions that affect millions of users.
Contribute to the design and architecture of next-generation network systems, potentially influencing how Apple delivers content for the next decade.
Apply machine learning or Generative AI technologies to predict and prevent network issues before they impact users.
Build tools that directly improve the experience of billions of Apple users during major events like product launches and iOS/MacOS releases.
Minimum Qualifications
Proficiency in a high-level programming language such as Python or Go, with a passion for writing clean, elegant code.
A solid foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
Foundational knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and a desire to learn more.
Experience with Git and collaborative software development workflows.
An analytical mindset and a data-driven approach to solving complex problems.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Expected graduation between June 2026 and June 2027.
Preferred Qualifications
Initiative and a proven ability to drive projects, whether in an academic, personal, or professional setting.
Curiosity demonstrated through personal projects, hackathons, or self-directed learning.
Experience with any form of distributed systems, cloud computing, or infrastructure automation.
Previous internship experience in software engineering or a related field is a plus.
Comfort with ambiguity and excitement about learning technologies not typically covered in university courses.
Strong analytical thinking and a data-driven mindset.
Exceptional collaboration skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas simply.
Understanding or interests in core network protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS), Internet peering, optical networking technologies (WDM), network monitoring technologies (snmp, gNMI)
