As a Process Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in designing and optimizing manufacturing processes for display and semiconductor manufacturing technologies. You will collect and analyze data, perform hardware characterization, and troubleshoot engineering issues. You'll also measure film properties, generate technical documentation, and engage with customers to resolve concerns. Process Engineers collaborate with vendors and suppliers, and become familiar with implementing new technologies and products. You will experiment, learn, and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the semiconductor and display industries, partnering with our globally recognized R&D teams on state-of-the-art research and development projects.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Process Integration Engineer to join our Photonics Platform Business Group. In this role, you will enable the transition of advanced optical device technologies from R&D into scalable manufacturing. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to define, develop, and optimize process flows for cutting-edge semiconductor and photonics devices.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive end-to-end process integration for advanced semiconductor device fabrication.
Define and optimize process flows to achieve performance, yield, and reliability targets.
Collaborate with module owners (lithography, etch, deposition, metrology, etc.) to align process development with integration requirements.
Conduct design-of-experiments (DOE) to identify process sensitivities and improve manufacturability.
Analyze optical test data to provide feedback for process tuning and device improvement.
Collaborate with design, process, and operations teams to ensure smooth technology transfer into volume manufacturing.
Troubleshoot integration issues and drive root-cause analysis for process-related failures.
Support technology roadmaps by contributing to process integration strategy and scalability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement process integration methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Stay updated with the latest advancements and industry trends in process integration to drive innovation.
Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing work environment.
Qualifications:
Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. A Ph.D. in a relevant field is preferred.
Work experience of at least 5 years. Proven experience (>3 years) in process integration, preferably R&D within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of nanotechnology processes, including lithography, etch, deposition, CMP and metrology.
Proficient in statistical data analysis and process optimization and control techniques (e.g., Design of Experiments, SPC, JMP).
Ability to read and understand layout files (industry-standard such as GDS and OASIS) and familiarity optical proximity correction (OPC) methodologies is a plus.
Knowledge of optics principles and photonic components and systems is desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in semiconductor manufacturing, such as ISO, SEMI, and ITAR regulations, and Project management skills are a plus.
