Job Summary:
The Graphite Purification, DIW Sonication, and CVD Process Operator is responsible for preparing and processing graphite components through deionized water (DIW) sonication, high-temperature purification, and Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) coating. This role ensures strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and quality requirements for producing high-purity, coated graphite parts used in semiconductor applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Graphite Purification Process:
Load & unload graphite components into high-temperature purification furnaces
Monitor furnace parameters (temperature, time, gas flow) during purification cycles
Perform system purging and cooling steps according to recipes
Ensure minimal contamination and proper handling of ultra-pure materials
DIW Sonication Cleaning
Prepare graphite parts for DIW ultrasonic cleaning (pre-rinse, degrease, etc.)
Operate ultrasonic baths with controlled time, temperature, and frequency
Inspect parts post-sonication for residual contamination
Maintain cleanliness of DIW system and filter integrity
CVD Coating Process
Load graphite parts onto fixtures and into CVD reactor chambers
Monitor recipe-driven CVD cycles (temperature, pressure, precursor gases)
Ensure coating uniformity, thickness, and adhesion through basic inspection
Perform post-process chamber cleaning and maintenance
Quality Control & Inspection
Conduct visual inspection for cracks, warpage, coating defects, or contamination
Use basic metrology tools to confirm dimensions or part condition post-process
Prepare parts for QA team verification
Documentation & Reporting
Accurately record batch information, process conditions, and lot traceability
Complete run sheets, checklists, and quality logs
Escalate process deviations or equipment abnormalities to engineers or leads
Equipment Care & Safety
Follow all safety protocols (EHS, chemical, gas handling, PPE)
Maintain cleanliness of process tools, chambers, and work environment
Perform minor tool maintenance or assist with PMs under supervision
Support continuous improvement initiatives and SOP updates
Qualifications
HS diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred
1-3 years of experience in semiconductor, graphite, or coating process operations
Basic knowledge of high-temperature furnaces, vacuum systems, and gas controls
Familiarity with deionized water cleaning and ultrasonic systems
Attention to detail and ability to follow strict SOPs and documentation practices
Comfortable working in a cleanroom or controlled environments
Team player with strong work ethic & willingness to learn complex processes
Other Requirements: This is a very physically demanding position that often requires standing for extended periods of time, walking, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, lifting, the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, the use of hand and power tools, and driving or operating heavy machinery including forklifts.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
