    As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials, you'll dive deep into ground-breaking technologies-like machine learning and AI-to craft novel software solutions that solve our customers' high-value problems. Our Software Engineers are responsible for designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices to ensure quality and functionality. You'll develop software documentation and test procedures, troubleshoot software problems, and communicate with internal customers to understand project requirements. As part of our team, you'll contribute your expertise in intricate systems, deciphering code, and anticipating software behaviors to ensure Applied remains the leader in the semiconductor and display sectors.

    We are looking for a highly talented Senior Frontend Engineer to join our unique Patterning Frontend group.

    As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining our cutting-edge web-based applications, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and user-friendly. You will also take part in elevating the group's proficiency and help set the group's goals and vision.

    Our Group:

    Patterning's frontend group is the largest frontend group within Applied Israel. Our members work as part of development teams in the Patterning business unit. The projects and features you will work on, can be relevant to several applications at the same time. Our goal, beside the day-to-day job, is to help Patterning and Applied to make the next robust step into a web-based world with a better user experience, fast delivery, and as much code commonality as possible.

    What will you be doing?

    • You will design, develop, and maintain high-quality web-based applications using React, Redux, and TypeScript.

    • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including backend engineers, UX/UI designers, and product managers, to deliver seamless and efficient user experiences. Writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following best practices and coding standards, will be a key part of your role.

    • You will conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to group members, troubleshoot and debug complex issues, ensuring timely resolution.

    • You will mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the group. Staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and continuously improving your skills and knowledge, will be part of your roadmap.

    What should you have?

    • A minimum of 7 years of experience in frontend development, with a strong focus on React, Redux, and TypeScript.

    • Experience in building and maintaining complex web applications is a significant advantage.

    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are required.

    Additional advantages include:

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience with other frontend frameworks and libraries. A strong understanding of modern web development practices and design patterns.

    • Knowledge of backend technologies and RESTful APIs.

    • Experience with version control systems, such as Git. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. Experience with testing frameworks and tools, such as Vitest and React Test Library and knowledge of micro-frontend architecture.
