Position Summary
The Technical Product Support (TPS) Engineer plays a critical role in delivering advanced technical support for the products of MDP (Metal Deposition Products) group. This position is responsible for ensuring optimal fleet performance, managing escalations, and supporting system installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement programs across TSMC fabs. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, close collaboration with global teams, and the ability to lead technical failure analysis for high-impact issues.
Work location is flexible within Taiwan, with up to 30% domestic and 15% international travel to support TSMC customer sites.
Responsibilities
Provides systems support for engineering systems in applications or reliability labs. Supports engineering owners by working on assigned projects in conjunction with vendors, or suppliers.
Acts as intermediary between customer and factory by providing technical support and documentation to field engineers, technicians and product support personnel who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging equipment.
Provides Beta Site Support; specifically related to installation, operation, calibration, service and/or testing of a new hardware, software, or processes
Presents system performance data as required. This includes performance metrics such as Uptime, MTBF, MTBI, Availability, equipment, and process parameters.
Supports GPS in the generation of documentation such as CENs and BKMs. Creates and reviews documentation covering technical improvements, system upgrades, and support plans. Presents at the engineering level.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years in the semiconductor industry, preferably with deposition (CVD, ALD, PVD) and etching processes. Experience supporting TSMC customers is a strong plus.
Proven ability to lead technical failure analysis for high-value problems (HVP) using DOE or other structured problem-solving methodologies, driving issues to resolution.
Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate across global teams and with customers.
Ability to support 30% domestic travel across Taiwan customer sites and up to 15% international travel.
