What You'll Do:
You'll be asked to handle a variety of responsibilities, including:
Collaboration & Connection
Collaborating with technology, product and business teams to uncover customer and business needs, then translating them into intuitive and engaging digital experiences
Helping to distill complex ideas into understandable concepts that evolve and enhance the product experience
Advocating for the customer through human-centered design methods that ensure our products speak their language
Championing design-centered approaches grounded in user research and analysis, and always representing the perspective of content strategy
Working with partners and teams across various geographies
Embracing and advocating for an experience mindset-this is as important to the work as the results
Discovery & Delivery
Conducting research, including usability and empathy studies, to help understand customer needs
Synthesizing research to define what information is needed throughout the end-to-end experience
Framing problems, defining insights and designing new methodologies/practices to serve customer needs
Creating new content experiences and guiding others in the process
Crafting copy that delivers clear, consistent and cohesive messages for our experiences, is shown in the right place at the right time, and guides our customers to complete their goals.
Adhering to compliance requirements using natural language and content standards
Facilitating and participating in workshops with internal and external stakeholders to align with business needs
Collaborating with other writers, UX designers and visual designers to contribute to our internal design system, content strategy community of practice, best practices and guidelines
Basic Qualifications
At least 6 years of experience with journalism, content creation, UX writing , editorial or information architecture disciplines
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with UX writing and strategy for cross channel experiences
Experience working with a variety of business partners and delivering outcomes
Experience with working in an established design system

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $163,300 - $186,400 for Manager, Design
San Francisco and San Jose, California (Hybrid On-Site): $173,100 - $197,500 for Manager, Design
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
