In the Credit Controls Management Team (CCMT), we defend the company against policy failures and find new insights which would lead to improvement in our underwriting standards. Responsibilities:

• Partner cross-functionally with data scientists, quantitative analysts, business analysts, software engineers, and project managers to provide assurance of the soundness of Capital One's credit environment and develop new credit insights that would be beneficial to enhance underwriting standards.

• Develop new processes to identify weak spots in current implementations of our credit policy with more confidence than the best available methods.

• Assess, challenge, and at times defend state-of-the-art decision-making systems to internal and regulatory partners.

• Leverage a broad stack of technologies - Python, R, Conda, AWS, and more - to reveal the insights hidden within huge volumes of data

• Build upon your existing machine learning and statistical toolset - both by learning new technologies and by building custom software tools for data and business analysis, policy performance evaluation, and more

• Communicate technical subject matter clearly and concisely to individuals from various backgrounds both verbally and through written communication

• Prepare presentations of complex technical concepts and research results to non-specialist audiences and senior management and contribute to technical reports

• Flex your interpersonal skills to translate the complexity of your work into tangible business goals, and challenge existing policy makers to advance their modeling, data, and analytic capabilities

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)

• At least 2 years of work experience in business analysis

Preferred Skills:

• Master's degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering

• 2+ years of experience in working on large data processes

• 2+ years of experience in SQL and Python programming

• 3+ years of experience in business analysis

• Proficiency in key econometric and statistical techniques (such as bivariate assessments, hypothesis testing, regression modeling, etc.)
