    Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Providing strategic legal advice on a variety of complex issues and topics

    • Translating laws, regulations, and legal requirements into clear and actionable guidance

    • Developing systems and frameworks for evaluating and minimizing risks (legal, compliance, reputational or otherwise) to the business.

    • Recognizing trends externally and issues internally to drive solutions proactively

    • Building relationships and collaborating with business stakeholders in wide-ranging roles

    • Understanding business needs and providing appropriate solutions to reach the desired goals

    • Working collaboratively with other members of the Legal Department to provide advice in a consistent, well-reasoned manner

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

    • Active member in good standing of at least one state bar

    • At least 8 years of legal counsel experience in a law firm, in house or in government

    • At least 5 years of litigation experience as a legal counsel or advising on matters of regulatory compliance

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience in advising financial services

    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both in teams and independently, make effective and integrated decisions, and collaborate effectively with associates at all levels in the company

    • Ability to deal with ambiguous situations, complex concepts, and details

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence others

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
