Summary
Responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring and optimizing utilities and services for one or more of the Beer Division's plant location's specifical project for the electrical (power) infrastructure. Monitors multiple projects/special projects and ensures these projects are managed and constructed in a fashion consistent with the Company Values, Policies and Procedures. Provides support to the Operations Team and observes the current situation of the infrastructure for the specific project assigned in closed communication with the MSUS. The MUS can be leading the local relationship with CFE/CENACE specific project assignation
Responsibilities
Implements management systems and best industry practices in all assigned projects and has the authority to assume or assign duties and responsibilities typically performed by other project personnel (e.g. Project Manager, Project Engineer, Utility & Services Engineers) if the size, complexity and personnel availability warrants. The MUS will contribute to maintain and further develop solid and professional working relationships with internal clients, utility company or governmental utilities department (CENACE, CFE, etc) suppliers and vendors.
Project Development
• With MSUS/PD develops project Utility & Services Needs & proposed solutions. • Leads project in the Engineering Utility & Services development team for assigned project/s.
• Develops overall Utility & Services concepts, schematics and justification. • Interacts with key stake holders and Operations.
• Develops and supports network of relationships with key vendors and Utility & Services equipment manufacturers
3 Project Implementation }
• Develops and leads the implementation of the Engineering and Design strategy for Utilities & Services focused on power distribution and related infrastructure. • Develops and supports the implementation of the Sourcing strategy for Utilities & Services
• Directly & indirectly (thru assigned engineers) supports PD or PM with all construction and installation activities.
• Provides Support to the Commissioning efforts from the engineering documental, strategy and hand over process.
• Actively participates in project startup and ramp-up.
• Provides direction and support when major events take place on a project (e.g., scheduled shutdown, preventive maintenance, emergency calls, etc.).
• Together with Plant Operation, develops a plan & keeps up-to-date records for Utility & Services engineering documents.
• Strives to optimize Utility and Services operative costs. Develops and implements sustainable projects (both technically and financially).
• Leads all critical response efforts to support plant operations with any issues associated with Utilities and Services.
Ample knowledge and experience in process, systems, technologies and equipment applicable to all utilities and services needed to support plant operations, included but not limited to:

• With EHS & BCP and PM, identifies project/s risks and equipment risks, the UM is an expert in the technical side or the Power Risks and has been educated in the knowledge of the Mexican Federal Standards and international safety standard like NFPA and NEC.
• Participates in implementation of appropriate safety corrective actions as needed.
7.Budget/Schedule/Cost Control
• Develops, maintains, updates, distributes and manages estimates related to Utilities & Services Engineering.
• Fully understands and fulfills contractual requirements with project vendors/suppliers. Uses Contract Risk Management to understand risks associated with a contract.
• Manages schedule requirements and prepares contingency plans to address nonconformance issues for the Company and Engineering Suppliers.
• Depending on the project type, the MUS will recommend utility & services project team personnel to the MSUS/PD.
• Supports the construction/installation strategy with the Project Manager and the project's assigned staff.
• Understands the project's requirements and expectations.
• Monitors construction progress in relation to utilities & services.
• Provides Support for the project managers to guarantee they are planned, scheduled and managed closely in order to achieve favorable results.
• Monitors the financial status of assigned projects by reviewing management reports, talking with the Project Manager and inspecting the project site. Provides necessary coaching to the Project Manager so the project will achieve positive performance.
• Ensures project risks are identified and actively managed. This includes safety, insurance, security, compliance with regulatory requirements, interface with plant operations, etc.
• Approves project expense reports for staff assigned.
