Resumen
The Senior Specialist, Packaging Materials Engineering, supports the management and development of assigned packaging material structures and specifications. In this role, the Senior Specialist assists with the evaluation and implementation of new material structures to support innovative product and packaging introductions. A key responsibility is to work collaboratively with CBI's Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Commercial teams to help ensure that assigned packaging materials perform effectively throughout the supply chain, ultimately contributing to a positive customer experience. Additionally, the Specialist assists in the development and documentation of new material specifications that meet the needs of the Commercial team and help maintain high standards of quality and performance across the supply chain and in customers' hands.
Responsabilidades
Technical Support & Specification Management: Assist in managing assigned packaging material structural designs and specifications, including requirements for incoming unit loads and outgoing finished goods
Quality Assurance & Issue Resolution: Collaborate with QA to analyze consumer complaints and help identify root causes for assigned packaging material failures, supporting the implementation of corrective actions
Product Development Collaboration: Work with R&D and Commercial teams to contribute to the development of new packaging material concepts and specifications that meet operational needs and perform reliably on packaging equipment and throughout the supply chain
Ideation & Commercial Proposal Development: Assist in identify, collaboratively evaluating with all stakeholders, and curate innovative packaging material concepts from internal and external sources, and develop compelling business cases and presentations to bring forward these ideas to Commercial teams for consideration in future product launches and marketing initiatives
Cross-Functional Team Participation: Actively participate in cross-functional teams with Production, QA, and Packaging & Warehouse Engineering to support the detailed testing and implementation of both adjustments to existing and new packaging material designs and specifications
Cost Savings & Process Improvement: Assist in identifying and supporting savings initiatives to reduce packaging material costs while maintaining high performance standards
Benchmarking & Industry Trends: Support benchmarking activities with material suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and internal teams to ensure alignment with current technologies, cost efficiencies, and sustainability trends
On-Site Support & Troubleshooting: Provide on-site assistance at breweries as needed to address performance-related issues with assigned packaging materials
Material Qualification & Supplier Support: Assist with the qualification process for new materials and suppliers to ensure compliance with required performance standards
Technology Monitoring & Adoption: Keep informed of new developments and technologies in assigned packaging materials, recommending relevant innovations to the team
Package Performance & Retail Collaboration: Work with QA and Wholesalers to help develop and test packages and improve package performance at retail locations
Auditing & Continuous Improvement: Support the conduct of annual audits on production lines and regular retailer audits, helping to assess material performance and contribute to solution development for identified issues
Regulatory Compliance: Assist in ensuring all assigned packaging materials comply with FDA, ISO, and environmental sustainability standards
Supplier & OEM Relationship Support: Help maintain and develop relationships with material suppliers, packaging equipment OEMs and Packaging & Warehouse Engineering to leverage new industry advancements
Reporting & Documentation: Support monthly reporting on the status and progress of all initiatives related to changes or improvements in assigned packaging material structures and specifications
