    Position summary

    s due to go live in July 2023. Prior to this date, the Assistant Accountant will work as part of the transformation project team. In that context they will help to establish the right processes and policies to deliver centralised service. It is then envisaged that the role holder will transition to the day-to-day role in late 2023.

    This role contributes to ensuring the month end close processes are run in an efficient and effective manner, that the group timetable is met and our outsourcer delivers against its SLA's and KPIs. The role is responsible for accounting processes; preparation of manual journals, review of manual journals and accounting processes prepared offshore, month end close reporting to group, cash management and responding to requests from external auditors**.**

    What key accountabilities you will have in the role?

    • Preparation of manual journals for the month end financial close to agreed month end timetable and group playbook requirements.

    • Preparation of accounting processes such as, balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations to agreed month end timetable and group playbook requirements.

    • Monitor the quality and timeliness of offshore transaction processing. This will include quality assurance reporting and feedback to management.

    • Support the preparation of monthly P&L and Balance Sheet commentary (where appropriate), ensuring key drivers are understood.

    • Maintain the integrity of balance sheets; ensuring any queried items are managed on an ongoing, timely basis.

    • Contribute to process improvement initiatives within scope of work.

    • Respond to queries from key stakeholders

    What skills and experience will you bring to the role?

    • Working towards accounting qualification (AAT/CIMA/ACCA) or equivalent accredited is preferred.

    • Experience in an accounting role is essential, with the preference for someone who has been in a similar role for that time in a large global business.

    • Experience in working with an offshore team and reviewing their work is preferred.
