A role you will love
The Event Manager will ensure consistent, well-managed handling of events across IT operations, including internal and vendor-driven changes, event lifecycle management, and potential one-off events involving IT event management oversight. These include, but are not limited to, operational events requiring coordination across teams while maintaining governance and best practices.
You will be working closely with internal and external partners, improving and standardising event lifecycle management processes & tools, harmonising event cycles, providing governance, control, and stability in the delivery of key IT events through robust strategies and provision of solid event management. You will act as one of the key links between development, infrastructure, wider stakeholders, and regional Computershare Technology Services in the delivery of IT events critical to the day-to-day function of technology.
Some key responsibilities:
Event planning, tracking and execution of activities for set IT events.
Negotiation and setting of event dates, ensuring completion of event documentation/communications/auditable artefacts.
Signoff of event artefacts and the communication of managed events to all stakeholders.
Developing and maintaining the event management calendar, scheduling of events, and maintaining event tracking systems.
Coordinating status updates during events, tracking event progress, and facilitating post-event reviews.
Continual process improvement and input into department strategic objectives.
What will you bring to the role?
While we are a new team, we will quickly become busy and be operating in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, so you will be readily adaptable, approachable, and autonomous. You will also be very organized and look to bring people together. Ideally, you will have previous experience in an IT Event Manager role or similar background and have a clear passion for the role.
The post holder will work closely with stakeholders to identify and implement more effective event management practices in line with CTO and Company strategies and goals. So, we are looking for someone who has worked in a global role and has exceptional stakeholder management, organisational skills and be able to build relationships with people all over the world.
Other key skills required for the role include:
Previous experience as an IT Event Manager, or similar, working within an operational/project delivery team environment.
Proven experience in successfully managing the delivery of events/projects across the event life cycle management processes/tools.
Strong leadership, influencing, negotiation and communication skills.
Understanding of SDLC and DevOps concepts.
Experience of global IT enterprise frameworks and associated event management methodologies.
A good awareness or experience of working in an ITIL environment would be favourable.
