A Residential Mortgage-Backed Security (RMBS) is a type of investment that is backed by a pool of residential mortgages. The pooled loans are packaged into securities, which are then sold to investors. Analysts within RMBS aggregate and reconcile loan level information, resolve exceptions with reporting deal parties, confirm receipt of required remittances, calculate the mandatory waterfall payments and produce payment date statements for the certificate holders and ensure timely distribution of funds.
