The focus of this position is to provide IT L1 & L2 sites services and foundation services that enable the Asia business from a technology perspective. As part of this role, it will require to own and assist in the planning and delivery of BAU IT infrastructure projects with global peers and delivery teams.
The incumbent will form part of a team of IT Specialists all based in Hong Kong, in addition to coordinating as part of a global team predominantly with the UK and Australia counterparts.
Technical support activities will vary; from resolving end-user hardware and software issues, to assisting with complex system-wide infrastructure configurations and projects with global peers and local vendors.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
• End-User Support and Delivery: Ensure adequate desktop and laptop machine availability and software availability for end users in Hong Kong and China. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within accepted timeframes.
• Infrastructure Support and Delivery: Ensure Network and storage infrastructure remains available to all end users. Monitor server availability, respond to alerts and assist in physical maintenance of hardware. Assist in delivery of global/regional/local infrastructure projects impacting Asia business.
• Software Installation, Maintenance and Access Control: Ensure critical patches are applied to Enterprise software. Respond within agreed timeframes to requests for software installation, access provision or access removal.
• Inventory Management: Provide maintenance of hardware and software inventory allocation to assist in optimizing the planning of hardware and software upgrades/delivery going forward.
What will you bring to the role?
You would be a University graduate with a background in IT or Engineering, certifications related to computer networking is advantageous. You would have experience supporting a large company's IT network and IT infrastructure services and have experience working as a project team, delivering key IT and infrastructure deliverables.
You will bring excellent communication skills in English and are able to provide clear verbal and written communications when responding to user queries. Additionally, you will be an effective and clear communicator across users and teammates during BAU work and project activities.
Other key skills required for the role include:
• Proven track record of providing IT end-user support in a large base (200+).
• Proven track record of building and managing relationships with external vendors of critical IT and infrastructure services such as network, data center, telephony and printing.
• Strong knowledge with enterprise IT and computer networking concepts: routing, switches, VLANs, firewalls, DNS, Proxy, TCP/IP etc.
• Competency in MS Windows platforms: Desktop, Server, domain services, Office, Outlook, etc.
• Ability to work under pressure and to prioritize issues/requests effectively.
• Proactive and approachable with a service-oriented manner, comfortable working independently with limited supervision.
