    This role initially focuses on enabling Georgeson Advisory to service publicly traded companies with needs that relate to corporate actions (including AGMs, EGMs, M&A and activist situations). As the business expands our investor relations and shareholder intelligence offerings in the US, the senior business development associate will be presented with more opportunities to grow with the organization.

    A role you will love

    The Senior Business Development Associate, reporting to the Head of Business Development, is responsible for sales enablement, and leading the organizations efforts to identify prospects across North America. The individual will also spend a significant amount of time assisting with relationship-building and sales tactics supporting the Investor Engagement group. The Associate will also work with a variety of stakeholders across the organization to manage prospecting, generating, and qualifying new sales leads to support the firms business development efforts.

    This individual will be a highly motivated self-starter able to identify and develop new business prospects from multiple sources including inbound marketing leads; prospect lists; a wide variety of databases and public sources; market research and individual initiatives. Previous experience with targeting tools and Salesforce, or other similar CRM's, is required.

    A dynamic, creative personality with a drive to reach decision makers is required.

    Some of your key responsibilities will include:

    New business targeting and outreach: Identify and enable business development team with new business opportunities for proxy solicitation, corporate governance, activism, and investor engagement by researching target-company characteristics and circumstances. (50% of time)

    • Work with advisory team to identify and evaluate issues for clients and prospects, including strategies to pursue new business opportunities

    • Leverage a variety of databases and public sources of information to identify and maintain a pipeline of viable prospects

    • Conduct analyses and determine prospects' pain points to determine how Georgeson Advisory can address company's specific needs. Use various communication platforms such as traditional correspondence, email, social media and other sources to identify appropriate buyers within the target market

    • Work with marketing to capture prospect lists from events and marketing

    • Assist with follow up for sales leads and moving opportunities through the funnel

    Develop & manage the production of materials or resources for clients and prospects: Oversee development of sales-oriented messaging and client-facing business development materials -outbound marketing emails, product factsheets, sales decks, presentations, reports, collateral, and web posts (30% of time)

    • Develop outbound messaging that can be used to cultivate prospects

    • Work with marketing team to improve relevant materials

    • Manage processes for developing reports, presentations, and collateral

    • Oversee process of working with marketing to distribute content and develop web posts

    • Support marketing with external events and webinars designed to generate new leads and opportunities

    Sales database management and reporting: Utilize customer relationship management software to manage sales pipeline and opportunity tracking (20% of time)

    • Oversee process for tracking effectiveness of targeted messaging and advancing leads to the qualification phase

    • Ensure all leads are correctly logged into database

    • Assure opportunity information is accurate, and documents are attached

    • Prepare and analyze sales pipeline reports and dashboards on a frequent basis

    • Work with the Business Development colleagues and Sales Professionals to develop and grow the sales pipeline to meet quarterly revenue expectations

    Other business development-related administrative tasks, as needed

    Other key skills required for the role include:

    • Bachelor's Degree in related field

    • 5-7 years' experience in a business enablement role, preferably with a law firm or financial services firm

    • Excellent communication skills - including ability to synthesize complex information and effectively report on matters

    • Entrepreneurial mindset and proactive problem-solving

    • Excitement about scaling new initiatives/business lines

    • Prior sales database management and experience with different prospecting tools preferred

    • Excellent computer skills required, including a high degree of proficiency with PowerPoint, Word and other applications.

    • Energized by, and excited to contribute to, an in-office work culture

    • Mastery of Excel and high degree of comfort working with large datasets

    • Experience managing CRM systems such as Salesforce (implementation experience a plus)

    • Impeccable attention to detail.

    • Proactive, resourceful, adaptable. A self-starter with strong team-working skills will be most successful in this role.

    Compensation. The base pay range for this role is $93,000 - $100,000/yearly. This base pay range is specific to New York City NY and may not be applicable to other locations.
