As a Trust Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements for our diverse portfolio of offshore employee benefit trusts. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering high-quality financial reporting that meets the rigorous standards of both listed and unlisted clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Statement Preparation: Take ownership of the entire financial statement process, from trial balance to finalization, adhering to our standardized templates.
Anomaly Detection and Resolution: Proactively identify potential discrepancies in financial data and collaborate with your team to resolve issues efficiently.
Support File Preparation: Create comprehensive support files to accompany the Annual Accounts, providing clear documentation and assisting colleagues with queries.
Investment and Nominal Ledger Review: Conduct in-depth reviews of investment and nominal ledger data to identify and highlight any anomalies or inconsistencies.
Year-End Journal Entries: Prepare and process year-end journal entries as required to ensure accurate financial reporting.
System Close-Down: Manage the year-end close-down process within our Jobstream system.
Adherence to Service Level Agreements: Uphold our commitment to delivering exceptional client service by meeting agreed-upon internal and external service level agreements.
Workload Management: Effectively manage your workload, balancing long-term projects with short-term tasks to achieve business objectives.
Ad-Hoc Duties and Projects: Contribute to various ad-hoc duties and projects as needed.
Beyond the Annual Accounts:
Tax Compliance: Prepare year-end tax statements for UK and Canadian tax filings and assist with the preparation and reconciliation of tax journals.
Financial Analysis: Contribute to the preparation of quarterly cash flow and management accounts for a select group of clients.
Client Support: Provide support to clients with complex accounting queries, leveraging your in-depth knowledge and expertise.
Process Improvement: Write bookkeeping templates and review and sign off on new client setups in Jobstream to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
Monthly Income Audit: Conduct monthly income audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
What will you bring to the role?
As a successful candidate, you will possess a strong foundation in UK GAAP Accounts Preparation. Your excellent communication and organizational skills will enable you to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients. A keen eye for detail and strong analytical abilities will be crucial in ensuring accuracy and identifying potential issues.
You will be a self-starter, proactive in your approach, and comfortable managing multiple tasks. Your strong numeracy skills and proficiency in double-entry bookkeeping will be essential in handling financial transactions.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word, will be key to maximizing efficiency. Additionally, experience with Jobstream software will be advantageous.
