The Impact of a Legal Associate at Coupa:
The Legal Associate position involves providing comprehensive legal support within Coupa's Legal department. You will have the opportunity to be a key contributor to the function by providing support and driving processes across the Employment (60%) and Commercial (40%) functions.
What You'll Do:
Conduct legal research and analysis to provide actionable advice.
Manage and maintain complex case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed, indexed, and accessible.
Monitor and advise on legal regulatory changes.
Assist with billing and invoicing procedures, including review and approval of legal invoices.
Support legal technology development and implementation, including AI and contract administration systems.
Draft and review a wide range of agreements, developing and continuously improving templates and processes.
Help establish and implement best practices for corporate legal and cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
Coordinate with external counsel and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and effective responses to legal inquiries.
Assist in compiling and rolling out training materials, templates, and other support for the businesses and functions on legal matters.
Assist in document preservation, collection, review, and production for litigation and regulatory matters.
Assist in subpoena responses, including gathering, reviewing, and organizing relevant materials, and preparing formal responses.
Assist with budgeting and tracking legal expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Support internal investigations and compliance initiatives, including conducting interviews and preparing reports.
Work independently on special projects relating to legal functions, providing strategic insights and recommendations.
Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on various legal issues.
What You Will Bring to Coupa:
Law degree
1-2 years of experience working in a firm or corporate legal department
Strong legal research and writing skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A strong interest in corporate law and business operations.
