The Impact of Manager, Software Engineering to Coupa:
As the Engineering Manager for advanced supplier collaboration, you will manage and lead a team that defines and builds products that enable seamless collaboration between our customers and suppliers to manage and reduce supply chain risks, ensuring on-time and on-quality delivery of planned goods/services.
This is a new, challenging area of focus but obvious, rewarding, and ripe for a solid execution-minded engineer leader. You are an innovator with a strong bias for action and an unwavering commitment to making our customers successful.
What You'll Do:
Lead by example-Bring strong technical leadership and problem-solving skills to guide your team through complex engineering challenges.
Mentor and manage a team of engineers-conduct regular 1:1s, provide continuous feedback, and foster a culture of ownership and growth.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Managers, Designers, and other Engineering leaders to define and deliver high-impact features in the Supply Chain Collaboration domain.
Drive technical execution-own design decisions, system architecture, and ensure development aligns with business goals and customer needs.
Partner with QE, Performance, and Operations to deliver high-quality, scalable software that meets rigorous performance standards.
Promote engineering excellence through code reviews, design discussions, and adherence to agile best practices.
Contribute to and oversee code development in GitHub, manage sprint tasks using JIRA, and ensure continuous improvement of engineering workflows.
Present product demos and updates to stakeholders across the organization.
What will you bring to Coupa:
7+ years of experience building web or enterprise applications, with 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
Hands-on experience with modern web frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Java, Go, and frontend tech like React, JavaScript, HTML/CSS.
Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
Proven ability to drive architectural decisions and deliver scalable, maintainable solutions.
Track record of successfully mentoring engineers and leading teams to deliver high-quality features on time.
Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and comfort with iterative development.
Experience working with business metrics and ensuring engineering work ties back to measurable goals.
Excellent communication, decision-making, and collaboration skills.
