The Impact of a Sr. UX Designer at Coupa:

As a Growth & GTM Designer, you will own the "connective tissue" of the supplier journey. You are responsible for the critical moments when a supplier first hears about Coupa, decides to join, compares plans, and finally hits "checkout." Your goal is to minimize the Time to First Value and make the transition from a marketing prospect to an active network participant feel like a single, effortless conversation. You not only have a high bar for visual craft, but you understand how a user moves through the experience. You understand that a beautiful checkout page is useless if the flow leading up to it is confusing. You design the path, not just the destination.

This role sits at the intersection of Product-Led Growth (PLG), experimentation, and brand storytelling. As part of the new, fast growing Supplier initiative at Coupa, you'll partner closely with Product and Marketing to design, test, and refine experiences that drive measurable impact, from first impression to activation and beyond.

    What You'll Do:

    • Own the Journey: Design and improve key growth surfaces like landing pages, onboarding, pricing, checkout, and upgrade flows

    • Connect the Experience: Make the end-to-end journey feel seamless across marketing and in-product touchpoints

    • Lead GTM Design: Support go-to-market efforts across the website, lifecycle (email, in-app), and feature launches

    • Drive Experimentation: Work with Product and Growth to shape hypotheses, run A/B tests, and iterate based on what you learn

    • Prototype to Learn: Quickly bring ideas to life to test, validate, and move faster with more confidence

    • Improve Conversion: Use data and research to spot friction, refine flows, and move key metrics

    • Raise the Bar: Push the quality of visual, interaction, and motion design across everything you touch

What You Will Bring to Coupa:

    • 5+ years of Product-Led Growth Experience: You understand how funnels, conversion, and experimentation actually play out in real products and drive business impact.

    • Journey Thinking: You naturally think in flows and systems, with a focus on time to first value.

    • Narrative Instinct: You can simplify complex ideas and carry a clear narrative across different touchpoints.

    • High Craft: You care about the details and it shows in your visual and interaction design work. You have experience with brand and product packaging.

    • Comfort with Experimentation: You've worked on A/B tests and know how to design for iteration, not perfection.

    • Fast Prototyping: Skilled at bringing ideas to life quickly with modern design tools.

    • Data-Aware: You use data and research to guide decisions, without getting stuck in it

    • Easy to Work With: You collaborate well with Product, Marketing, and Engineering and can adapt as things change.

    What Success Looks Like:

    • First 3 Months: You build a deep understanding of our users, funnel, and growth levers. You identify friction points and begin shaping early experiments. You establish trust with cross-functional partners and start contributing to meaningful improvements in key flows.

    • By 6 Months: You are driving multiple experiments end-to-end, with clear hypotheses and measurable outcomes. You've improved critical conversion points (e.g., onboarding, pricing, checkout) and delivered cohesive GTM experiences that connect marketing and product more seamlessly.

    • By 12 Months: You are a key driver of growth strategy through design. The experiences you've shaped measurably improve activation, conversion, and retention. You've helped establish a more unified journey across all touchpoints and raised the bar for how design contributes to business impact.
