    Position summary

    on complex issues

    • Works with other EIS teams to apply and validate Linux/Windows patches to database and application servers.

    • Manages storage associated with Epic Cache databases and Windows ancillary applications. Assists systems administrators with storage allocation and planning related to the database

    • Monitors and optimizes the performance of Epic Cache database instances in a networked environment

    • Implements viable database backup, recovery, and high availability strategies and mechanisms. Executes database recovery, restoration, and/or restart as required

    • Defines and implements database parameters, security, audit, and resource allocation policies and procedures. Defines, creates, and manages user accounts, profiles, privileges, roles, and required audit information

    • Responsible for daily Epic build migrations using Epic's Data Courier utility, working closely with application and change teams. Analyze and troubleshoot migration issues

    • Adheres to change control processes. Maintains version control, administration of scripts for file manipulation and programming access to multiple environments

    • Maintain Epic production and non-production Hyperspace environments

    • Troubleshoot and diagnoses Epic ancillary application issues and implement solutions

    • Define, create user accounts, profiles, roles and maintain required audit information

    • Works closely with database, environment/infrastructure, and internal/external enterprise security teams

    • Provide on call support for production performance/availability or other critical issues

    • Excellent documentation skills such as - Application understanding, change management etc.

    • Ability to understand Service Level Agreement (SLA) methodology and follow the same as per engagement requirements

    • This resource needs to work with stakeholders and IT team to troubleshoot Epic system issues and problems related to break-fixes and other support activities

    • Resolve issues or incidents reported by end users and escalate any quality issues or risks with team leads/scrum masters/project leaders

    • This resource will also work with end-users to help communicate enhancements/improvements needed for business processes

    • This role provides outstanding client service and contributes to the organization's mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care

    • Communicate regularly with Engagement Managers (Directors), project team members, and representatives from various functional and / or technical teams, including escalating any matters that require additional attention and consideration from engagement management

    Qualifications

    Required

    • 3-6 years of recent experience with Epic systems

    • Programming experience with PERL or PowerShell

    • Must have Epic Systems/ECSA/ODBA certification

    • Prior Server Operating System Experience

    • Expertise with US healthcare workflows

    • Experience in troubleshooting, testing, and support

    • Working knowledge of patient care databases and applications required

    • Working knowledge of monitoring, tuning, and administration of Windows and IIS applications is preferred

    • Working knowledge of Citrix, VMWare, BigIP, F5 or Netscaler load balancing, and SSL/TLS required

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience

    • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience

    • Limited Sponsorship: Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

    • Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

    Preferred

    • Strong desktop skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Work Experience/Direct Knowledge of clinical area or business area to be supported
    • Working knowledge of monitoring, and administration of enterprise database systems a plus
    • Analytical/ Decision Making Responsibilities
    • Analytical ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks into manageable work products
    • Can operate independently or with minimum supervision
    • Excellent Written and Communication Skills
    • Ability to deliver technical demonstrations
