The GPS Analytics and Cognitive (A&C) offering is responsible for developing advanced analytics products and applying data visualization and statistical programming tools to enterprise data in order to advance and enable the key mission outcomes for our clients. Our team supports all phases of analytic work product development, from the identification of key business questions through data collection and ETL, and from performing analyses and using a wide range of statistical, machine learning, and applied mathematical techniques to delivery insights to decision-makers. Our practitioners give special attention to the interplay between data and the business processes that produce it and the decision-makers that consume insights.
Work you'll do:
The Software Engineer will work as part of a cross-functional agile team to launch innovative AI-driven Data and Analytics products for Public Sector clients. In addition, the developer will:
Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
Work individually or as part of a team.
Review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
Resolve software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
TS/SCI with Polygraph required
Must be willing to work onsite 5 days/week
5+ years demonstrated expertise backend software engineering (Python/R/Java/Spring/Node.js)
2+ years demonstrated expertise frontend software engineering (JavaScript/Angular/React)
2+ years building user interfaces that consume RESTful APIs
1+ years experience architecting user interfaces on a microservice architectures
1+ years experience with Apache Anaconda, Kubernetes and Docker
Preferred Qualifications:
Creativity and innovation - desire to learn and apply new technologies, products, and libraries.
Strong knowledge of best practices - willingness to review code and provide feedback to other engineers
Experience implementing wireframes with flexible, well-structured code
Willingness to collaborate with distributed teams
Comfortable with code versioning tools such as Git
