The impact you will have in this role:
As a member of the Counterparty Credit Risk team, the Associate will be responsible for assessing the financial stability of DTCC's member firms by interpreting financial documents of banks, broker-dealers, and other financial firms. Counterparty Credit Risk is defined as the risk of economic loss resulting from the failure of a member or other credit counterparty to meet its contractual financial obligation or the default on securities issued by a DTCC Investment Counterparty . The team is responsible for a portfolio of member firms and is required to perform annual reviews and ongoing surveillance, as well as review new member applications. In addition, the Counterparty Credit Risk Associate will be responsible for the maintenance of the credit risk rating matrix and assessing compliance with established financial parameters, keeping current on new accounting and regulatory pronouncements that impact member firms.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
Analyze the financial standing of counterparties, primarily financial institutions. and apply judgement to identify credit risks, mitigants, and trends in financial institutions' (e.g., banks, broker-dealers, funds etc.) capital adequacy, profitability, asset quality, and liquidity/funding management
Perform annual reviews and ongoing surveillance of member firms, with growing independence over time, to assess the creditworthiness of member firms and identify member firms that need to be subjected to additional surveillance or mitigants
Assist with credit risk monitoring tools, automation, and other risk-related initiatives
Collaborate with internal departments such as Market Risk, Product Management, Relationship Management, Legal, and Compliance, such as to share information on risk exposures to member firms
Review new member full-service applications to assess whether the applicants' financial condition meets DTCC member requirements
Apply experienced understanding of DTCC's business, CCR's processes, and the risk environment
Demonstrate core conduct values, including integrity, adherence to risk-related policies, regulatory awareness, and a risk management mentality
Responsible for a portfolio of counterparties
Align risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk

Qualifications:
Minimum 3-4 years of related experience
Bachelor's degree
