    The Impact you will have in this role:

    Being a member of the Infrastructure Architecture team, the Executive Director will play a pivotal role in defining and driving the modernization of DTCC's enterprise technology landscape. Reporting to the Head of Architecture, you will lead the Cloud Architecture function within the company-wide Architecture organization, influencing application, platform, data, and resiliency domains.

    You will define enterprise-level architecture standards and cloud strategies that directly enable secure, scalable, and compliant modernization. Your work will improve delivery speed, strengthen regulatory alignment, and increase operational resilience across critical platforms. You will lead a matrixed team of architects and engineers, partnering with senior technology leaders, platform engineering, and application teams to deliver cloud-native, high-performing, and mission-critical systems that ensure DTCC remains the trusted infrastructure of the world's capital markets.

    Your Primary Responsibilities:

    Strategic Leadership and Governance

    • Set and maintain the enterprise cloud architecture vision-defining standards, reference architectures, and blueprints that enable modernization and regulatory compliance.

    • Drive measurable transformation outcomes, such as reducing on-prem footprint, increasing cloud adoption rates, and accelerating delivery velocity across DTCC's application portfolio.

    • Establish architecture KPIs and metrics that demonstrate alignment to business value (e.g., resiliency improvements, incident reduction, cost efficiency).

    • Represent the Architecture domain in enterprise governance forums, shaping architectural decisions that balance innovation, risk, and resilience.

    Cloud Architecture and Modernization

    • Lead the architecture and design of enterprise cloud landing zones and migration frameworks, ensuring secure, multi-region architecture that meet DTCC's performance and regulatory requirements.

    • Partner with development and platform engineering teams to design modern, cloud- native applications optimized for availability, observability, and cost efficiency.

    • Author and govern cloud design patterns and reference implementations that accelerate adoption while enforcing consistency and control.

    • Champion the adoption of DevSecOps practices and automation, improving release velocity, quality, and audit readiness through standardized CI/CD pipelines.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration and Influence

    • Collaborate across domains-security, operations, risk, and business technology-to ensure solutions are compliant, resilient, and aligned with enterprise goals.

    • Lead and mentor a matrixed team of senior architects, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

    • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive technology leaders, providing clear, data-backed recommendations on modernization priorities and trade-offs.

    • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners, leveraging industry trends to keep DTCC ahead of regulatory and technological change.

    Innovation and Thought Leadership

    • Stay ahead of emerging technologies-AI/ML, blockchain, ledger and graph databases, and edge computing-and evaluate their relevance for DTCC's mission-critical systems.

    • Publish internal thought leadership and deliver executive presentations that clearly link architectural strategy to measurable business outcomes.

    • Foster a learning culture by mentoring architecture and engineering talent, developing the next generation of technical leaders at DTCC.

    Qualifications:

    Required

    • 20+ years of combined experience in enterprise architecture, cloud engineering, and large-scale transformation within financial services or similarly regulated industries.

    • Proven track record delivering resilient, multi-region, cloud-based platforms at enterprise scale.

    • Deep technical expertise in cloud (AWS and Azure preferred), infrastructure, and application modernization.

    • Experience leading cross-domain architecture teams through modernization and migration initiatives.

    • Strong understanding of security, compliance, and resiliency frameworks in regulated environments.

    Preferred

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (advanced degree a plus). Advanced cloud certifications (AWS/Azure Architect Professional or equivalent).

    • Familiarity with DevSecOps tooling and automation (Jira, Jenkins, CloudFormation, Ansible, Terraform).

    • Hence with emerging technologies such as AI/ML, distributed ledgers, and advanced data platforms.

    • Outstanding technical communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex concepts for executive audiences.
