What you'll do:
As an Assistant Supervisor you will provide leadership and direction for hourly work groups within the plant. You will assist the Production Manager with performance tracking in respect to safety & the environment, quality, on-time delivery, and cost for the respective areas. In addition, you are the first line contact between production employees and the management staff.
In this role you will:
Conduct and support daily team start-up meetings with all department personnel in areas of responsibility.
Represent the company when interacting with production employees on the shop floor.
Help drive and implement safety policies and programs, meet operating budgets, complete continuous improvement plans, and coach employees on behavior/performance.
Monitor control plans, troubleshoot workmanship problems, and supervise production activities to ensure manufactured products meet or exceed established quality requirements.
Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work processes are followed, and countermeasures are implemented where necessary.
Ensure that assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instruction and tools to successfully perform jobs and tasks.
Utilize lean six sigma methodologies to reduce operational costs, inventory and lead-times, as well as ensure there is alignment with long-term manufacturing strategies.
Partner with leadership to develop and establish manufacturing priorities based on the production schedule and monitor employee work requirements in order to meet customer deadlines.
Ensure employees are adhering to all required policies and standards.
Qualifications:
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
Associates degree or High School Diploma/GED.
Minimum of three (3) years' manufacturing or operations experience.
Minimum of one (1) year of leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
Machining experience (CNC, manual machining, etc.).
Three (3) years of related operational experience including increasing responsibility and leadership of projects and teams in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with SAP business systems.
Experience with Microsoft Office platforms.
Experience with Continuous Improvement projects.
Experience with Union environments.
