    Position summary

    elated to augmented reality, factory simulation, process control and traceability, digital work instructions, and additive manufacturing. As a jet driving force, the OT/Auto engineer will lead efforts to ensure the successful implementation of these technologies and contribute significantly to the advancement of Eaton's manufacturing capabilities.

    The OT/Auto engineer will work across multiple plants within the 5 business units in PCS; PCD, ICD, Bussmann UL, LATAM and Canada operations.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Manage Industry 4.0 projects including automation, Digital core, IIoT, additive manufacturing, systems integration and manage project objectives and timelines.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional resources to execute projects - Plant Leadership, Information Technology, Operational Excellence, Production, Quality, Facilities and Engineering.
    • Work closely with Electrical Sector central resources and subject matter experts.
    • Guide & support plant teams on machine connectivity & data acquisition activities
    • Work as liaison to divisional Digital Factory Engineer and Manufacturing leaders
    • Align Industry 4.0 project objectives to each plant's continuous improvement initiatives
    • Assist manufacturing teams in the development, submission & approval of business cases for Industry 4.0 project opportunities
    • Train key plant personnel on the Industry 4.0 tools & technologies being deployed to ensure successful adoption and achieve improvement objectives
    • Develop knowledge & expertise in the Industry 4.0 tools & technologies to be a subject matter expert (SME) for the PCS business.

    Qualifications:

    Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechatronics or technical science from an accredited institution
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, automation and/or IT project development
    • Knowledge of electronic systems, electric cabinets or wiring of hardware (motors, PLC's, sensors,...)
    • Analytical and critical thinking - necessary for identification of issues and potential troubleshooting
    • English 80% or above, demonstrate ability to understand main ideas of manual reading and communicate casually with international colleagues and vendors.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Desirable 5 years of experience in one of those manufacturing engineering (Manufacturing Engineering, IT network)
    • Experience in controls engineering, programming, additive manufacturing, big data & analytics
    • Understanding of machine connectivity, communication protocols & data management
    • Understanding of IT infrastructure & system integration
    • Proficient with computer and software tools - including advanced Excel capabilities (pivots, macros, etc.)
    • Expertise in lean manufacturing & Six Sigma
    • Ability to select and install PLC hardware and software
    • Ability to operate and maintain PLC systems (Siemens, Rockwell, Eaton,..)
    • Ability to evaluate and select electrical system components such as circuit protection devices, sensors, relays, actuators, timers, motors & various types of AC/DC drives
    • Ability to read & use wiring, connection, schematic, and ladder logic diagrams to troubleshoot control systems
    • Ability to setup industrial network devices (switches/routers) and connect these into the existing IT infrastructure
    • Knowledge/Experience with setup of Kepware OPC system (optional)
    • Ability to perform diagnostics on control hardware with the necessary SW package
    • Knowledge or experience with electric safety devices (switches, fuses, breakers) Optional
    • Knowledge or experience with Thingworx (PTC) platform (optional)
    • Knowledge or experience with Reporting Systems (SSRS, QlikView) (optional)
    • Ability to communicate complex technical terms to non-professionals working in the plant (management, department leaders,..)

    Skills:

    Position Criteria:
    • Knowledge of Industrial IoT concepts & solutions Demonstrated project management experience, including risk management & change management
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment; to communicate effectively and professionally across many organizational levels and functions and effectively build rapport with stakeholders
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as fabrication, assembly & test, as well as materials management and quality processes
    • Proven problem-solving capability
    • Ability to act as an agent of change, driving and enabling process change
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles & tools
    • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Takes initiative to develop personally and professional and actively seeks ways to grow and be challenged
    • Travel requirements: Can be up to 50% at times but annually it will be around 25% - Frequent travel to El Paso, Beaver, PA

    • Candidate must be able to travel to and outside of the continental United States including, but not limited to, the Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Canada
