About the role
As a Buyer, you will play a key role in ensuring materials and finished electrical goods are available for our Distribution Centers and production plants. You will manage the end-to-end purchasing lifecycle, from suppliers to operations, ensuring material availability, cost control, and supply continuity in a manufacturing / industrial environment.
In this role, you will report to the Buyer Team Leader and work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders across Supply Chain, Production Planning, Logistics, and Operations.
This role is targeted at experienced Buyers with 3-5 years of hands-on purchasing experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end flow of materials between suppliers, factories, distribution centers, and production plants
Ensure material demand is met and supplier deliveries arrive on time and in full
Own and maintain a clean, accurate open Purchase Order book
Perform PO follow-up, expediting, rescheduling, cancellations, and confirmations
Organize and lead regular supplier calls with key vendors (Top 3-5)
Communicate supply changes to Customer Service, Order Management, and Production Planning
Monitor and support achievement of Supply Chain KPIs (OTD, SFR, S-OTD, etc.)
Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Maintain accurate purchasing master data in SAP (PIRs, Source Lists)
Handle supplier order confirmations and manage deviations (price, quantity, delivery date)
Investigate and resolve blocked POs and invoice discrepancies
Provide supply forecasts to suppliers and assess potential material risks
Identify, escalate, and mitigate material shortages impacting plants and DCs
Support Category Management with price, MOQ, consumption, and spend analyses
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and supply chain projects
Support warehouse ticket resolution and inbound discrepancy management
Assist with stock-takes and consignment inventory activities
Qualifications
3-5 years of hands-on Buyer / Purchasing experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Plant exposure is a strong advantage
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Engineering, or related field
Proven experience with purchase order management, RFQs, supplier communication, and expediting
Experience working with ERP systems (SAP MM strongly preferred)
Solid understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes
Experience supporting production environments and time-critical supply situations
Skills
Fluent English (spoken and written)
Strong Excel and MS Office skills
Confident working with KPIs and data-driven decision-making
Proactive, ownership-driven mindset
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Ability to handle complex, fast-paced operational environments
Comfortable communicating with suppliers and cross-functional teams
Analytical approach with strong problem-solving capability
