    What will you do?

    Development and creation of drawings: Consult with plant and field sales engineers in interpreting and defining new equipment applications. Development of a variety of complex drawings and bills-of-material based upon established product designs, which provides sufficient detail to accurately convey the purchaser's equipment application. Advise Drafting/Design, Manufacturing, and Purchasing - when required - in interpreting information for the accurate production of equipment in accordance with the purchaser's requirements.

    Project execution and management: Conduct special development/application projects of a complex nature with external customers and internal departments to ensure that projects are completed on time, on budget and safely adhering to electrical codes and standards.

    Continuous improvement and quality mindset: Perform in-process inspections, as required, to ensure compliance to Quality standards and make necessary adjustments to meet quality standards. Actively support EPC Safety, 5S, and Continuous Improvement and operational excellence initiatives.

    Qualifications:

    Required (Basic) Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering or equivalent.

    • Registered as a professional engineer with APEGA or EIT(engineer in training) or eligible for registration.

    • 5+ years experience in the power distribution or electrical industry

    • 3+ minimum years' experience in the application of control and switchgear assembly products up to 38kV.
    • 2+ years experience designing with AutoCAD.

    • Knowledge of CSA standards and CEC code.
    • Be legally authorized to work in Canada without the sponsorship of a company now or in the future.
    • Only candidates residing within an 80 km radius of Edmonton will be considered for this position. No moving (relocation) is offered for this position.

    Preferred qualifications:
    • APEGA license

    • Experience with Lean management and continuous improvement techniques
    • Knowledge of power distribution products (LV and MV Switchgear, Motor Control Centers, etc.)
