    Position summary

    environment, which includes familiarization and use of function/signal generators, testers, communication modules, programmable/automated test scripts, transformers and converters. Work in synergy with field application engineers on customer approval processes

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    B. Solid knowledge in protection relays, controls and functions applied in Electric Power Distribution and related standards, including automation, Smart Grids and switchgear application (reclosers, circuit breakers, disconnect and load break switches and relays).
    C. Demonstrate experience and ability to manage and lead complex projects on time.
    D. Carry out product specifications and customizations, including dFMEA and execution plan for type tests and necessary routines of product development and improvements, regarding protection and switching devices in energy distribution lines according to applicable standards.
    E. Experience in development testing, including general evaluation of features and functions based on protection relays and test setups that include function and signal generators, testers, programmable/automated test routines, transformers and converters.
    F. Experience with software applied to Ethernet network and field communication network of electric power utilities.
    G. Knowledge to evaluate and validate firmware and software functions/versions, including Web Browser and IECs, MODBus, DNP3, MMS and GOOSE communication protocols.
    H. Develop reports of features, settings and protection relays/controls operation, including support for local and external development engineering.
    I. Provide technical support to field application engineers, PLM, production and commercial department in order to meet customer requirements.
    J. Review and provide feedback on product literature and portfolios. Propose improvements in functionalities, changes that make the manufacturing process easier and more reliable, with lower cost and better-quality level, seeking more robust design solutions, including projects localization and synergy with sister plants and external suppliers.
    K. Understand competitive environment in order to be able to position Eaton products in the right segments and better compete against competitor offerings.
    L. Be capable of building partnerships for better positioning Eaton in target projects.
    M. Contribute with EHS metrics that were established of the area/function/factory in accordance with the deployment realized.
    N. Be compliance with EHS and quality policy in accordance with trainings and communication transmitted for the function

    Qualifications:

    SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
    Education and Skills required to meet position qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering - Electric/Electronic Engineer graduation.
    • At least 5 years of experience in the Product
    • Solid knowledge in protection relays, controls and functions applied in Electric Power Distribution and related standards, including automation, Smart Grids and switchgear application (reclosers, circuit breakers, disconnect and load break switches and relays).
    • SAP Database; Teams; Planner; Windows Office; Microsoft Project.
    • Communication devices and application.
    • Proficiency in English.

    Preferred/Additional Specialized Knowledge (not required to be qualified for position):

    • Knowledge on new product development process and tools (dFMEA, PPAP, etc.)
    • Relationships and influence across organizational boundaries.
    • Basic financial knowledge for capital plan, project management, budgeting and profit planning.
    • Leadership skills.
