As a Lead Design Engineer, you will provide design engineering services instrumental to the completion of turnkey projects.
In this role, you will:
• Lead medium/high voltage designs for Substations and MV power distribution projects.
• Participate in site walk-downs to assist in developing proposals for new work in the region.
• Develop engineering estimates, scope of work, and review technical documents.
• Responsible for developing drawing packages which include:
o Equipment Specifications
o Single line/Three-line drawings
o Schematics/Wiring/Interconnection diagrams
o General arrangement drawings
o Conduit/cable plans
o Grounding drawings
o AC/DC control power drawings
o SCADA and Communication design
o Equipment Testing Procedures/Commissioning plans
o Various Power Engineering calculations
Qualifications:
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
• At least 8 years of design experience
• Candidates must reside within 50 miles of one of the following locations: Seattle/Portland/San Diego/Salt Lake City/Phoenix/Denver. No relocation will be offered for this position. Active Military Service candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional Engineering license
• Working knowledge of NERC/FERC, NESC, NEC, ANSI, NETA, IEEE standards
• Understanding of power system studies including short circuit, coordination, and arc flash
