Job profile:
As a Lead Engineer, you will:
Lead Projects: Take charge of small to medium projects or sections of larger initiatives including ideation, proposal preparation and concept development of innovative energy system solutions covering topics such as architecture studies; implementation of Digital Twins; advanced control and optimisation; protection algorithms and real-time simulation frameworks. Support the development and maintenance of test facilities and assets.
Plan & Coordinate: Work closely with other functions, including project management, to manage tasks and ensure milestone success by engaging cross-functional teams. Create technical reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
Work closely with mechanical, thermal, software and power electronics engineers to succesfully design and validate concepts.
Innovate, invent and secure critical intellectual property by driving patent filings and technology transfer to supporting business units.
Support Growth: Be a role model, providing technical support to junior colleagues. Work closely with external contributors and stakeholders (business units, universities, project partners and customers)"
We would like you to bring:
MSc. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Solid experience in energy systems domain
Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: DER/EV management, EV charging infrastructure integration, battery and energy management systems, grid automation and control, grid reliability and resiliency, DC distribution and microgrid control
Expertise in integration of generation and storage technologies into demonstration sites
Advanced data analytics skills to address the emerging R&D challenges in modern energy systems
Solid understanding of control theory including classical control, modern control and state estimation concepts.
Modeling and simulation, Hardware in the loop (Matlab, PSCAD, Opal-RT, RTDS), Communication protocols (CAN, MODBUS, TCP/IP, MQTT)
Hands-on experience with field or lab testing in some of those areas : inverters, energy storage systems, power converters and controllers
Demostrated Program / Project Management skills"
Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders
Comfortable presenting technical content at all levels within the business
English both oral and written
