    Position summary

    What you'll do:

    • Lead 2nd shift shop floor execution to safely fulfill customer orders and meet daily production targets.
    • Set clear expectations, coach performance, and hold self and team accountable to standard work, documented processes, and procedures.
    • Build and sustain a visually driven, process-oriented culture that focuses on customer value and continuous improvement.
    • Promote positive employee relations by modeling Eaton's Values, Ethics, and philosophies and by addressing concerns promptly and respectfully.
    • Track and review key performance metrics; use the Eaton Business System to identify, prioritize, and implement improvements within the work area.
    • Partner with day shift Value Stream Managers to ensure effective shift handoffs, continuity of production, and rapid resolution of issues.
    • Ensure employees have the training, information, and tools needed to perform work safely, effectively, and to quality standards.
    • Translate plant vision and goals into actionable shift priorities; communicate progress and reinforce alignment through daily direction and feedback.
    • Perform routine safety and security checks (including perimeter walks) and respond to incidents, alarms, and escalations in accordance with site procedures.

    Qualifications:

    Required (Basic) Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution OR a High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution with a minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing experience.
    • Minimum of one (1) year of manufacturing supervisory experience.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
    • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.
    • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Rumford, RI will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience supervising in a high-mix manufacturing environment on an off shift (limited support functions on-site).
    • Experience working in a union environment and partnering effectively with union leadership to support plant objectives.
    • Experience using production systems (ERP/MRP/MES) for labor reporting, work order execution, and schedule adherence.

    Position Success Criteria:
    • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing / continuous improvement tools (e.g., 5S, standard work, daily accountability, problem solving).
    • Demonstrated safety leadership, including incident response, hazard identification, and completion of shift safety audits/walks.
    • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to lead effective shift handoffs, escalate issues appropriately, and drive cross-shift alignment.
    • Ability to coach, develop, and motivate hourly employees; experience with performance management and training within a manufacturing setting.
