Applies aerospace engineering principles and working knowledge to a range of problems that require imaginative and practical solutions.
Researches, develops, designs and documents tests for electronic components, equipment, controllers, devices and systems.
Performs electrical test tasks allocated by the Electrical Test management team from concept to introduction to use, taking particular account of value, design for re-use, safety, validation, and configuration management.
When using facilities and equipment, ensures that they are safe and serviceable.
Creates, reviews and releases technical documentation that defines the requirements, design, verification, processes and procedures that control the governance and operation of electrical test activity.
Collaborates with technical colleagues outside of the business unit/functional area as needed, to accomplishing objectives.
Supports the Electrical Test engineering management team in performing the activities associated with electrical tests for avionic equipment and systems.
Is an effective team member to collectively deliver internal and external customer requirements.
Supports all stages of lifecycle management relating to development and validation of electrical test products.
Qualifications:
Engineering or science degree, or equivalent experience following an apprenticeship.
Minimum 7 years within the engineering or manufacturing industries.
Sound understanding of electrical systems.
Skills:
Able to work with circuit diagrams.
Proficient user of MS Office, specifically Word and Excel.
Understanding of digital and analogue hardware and is able to debug equipment using laboratory instruments (DMM, Oscilloscope, etc.).
Electrical test hardware design experience.
An understanding of requirements management, configuration management, and health & safety requirements applicable to office and laboratory environments.
A keen eye for detail.
Pro-active, able to us their own initiative.
Good verbal and written communications.
Collaborates well in a team environment.
A willingness to mentor less experienced engineers.
An appetite to learn.
