It will be needed a good ability to communicate complicated technologies in a clear and concise way to a variety of different audiences (business leaders, technical colleagues and lay people).
What you'll do:
• Design and build hardware of power electronics converters for use in Eaton products.
• End to end ownership of hardware - from specification to design, prototype reliability validation and high-volume manufacturing.
• Collaborate with electronics, mechanical, and firmware engineering teams to design, validate and manufacture power converters.
• Collaborate on architecture and modeling of existing and new power converter topologies that achieve better performance.
• Report periodically to the Project Manager / Team Manager
• Engage in the Eaton Quality Process
Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent; Masters or PhD preferred.
• 10+ years of relevant hands-on hardware experience in power converter design (AC/DC, DC/DC & DC/AC)
• Experience with high voltage power semiconductor selection (Si/SiC/GaN MOSFET's, Diodes), gate drive and protection circuit design.
• Experience with UL and/or CE electrical safety requirements and certification, and EMC requirements relevant to the design of power converters.
• Experience with design of analog/digital circuits and micro-processors.
• Experience in supervision of PCB layout for minimal stray inductance and capacitance, placement strategies for better manufacturability, power/signal plane definition and EMC optimization.
