    Position summary

    opportunity for a Field Service Technician who wants to step up in their career and move towards a training and leadership role. The role will require to travel to sites (30%) and also travel to factory or other Eaton sites for training and testing.

    Key Duties:

    • "Provide expert technical support and the subject matter expert (SME) of technical services of Eaton's UPS products and solutions (1-Phase, 3-Phase, and DC systems), including commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance to Field Service Technicians, Project Management Team, and Customers. Deliver the product technical trainings, and participate in testing such as Factory Acceptance / Witness Testing (FAT/FWT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for critical power projects. Ensure high standards of service delivery, safety, and customer satisfaction across ANZ. The role will require to travel to the sites to support the field service teams (30%) and also travel to factory or other Eaton sites for training and testing

      "1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting
      • Respond to customer and field service requests for technical support on DC and UPS systems including other Power Quality products
      • Diagnose and resolve hardware, firmware, and configuration issues, both remotely and on-site.
      • Provide guidance on system operation, maintenance, and upgrades.
      • Liaise with engineering and product teams to escalate complex issues.

      1. Commissioning, Testing & Maintenance Technical Support
        Technical Support commissioning, maintenance and testing of UPS systems at Eaton and customer sites, including integration with batteries and monitoring systems. Attend the site commissioning, testing, and repair as required as level 1 and 2 support resource. Providing technical direction and complete the MOP templates required to perform these activities.

      2. Factory Testing & Acceptance
        • Attend and participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Factory Witness Testing (FWT) for UPS and DC equipment, following approved test scripts and procedures
        • Lead the creation of Testing templates required for UPS and DC systems
        • Review and verify test results, ensuring equipment meets project specifications and customer requirements.
        • Document and report findings from factory tests to project and engineering teams.

      3. Training & Knowledge Transfer
        • Deliver technical training to customers, field service engineers, and contractors on UPS & DC Systems: operation, maintenance, repair, and safety.
        • Develop and update training materials, manuals, and best practice guides.
        • Mentor technical support coordinators and support ongoing competency development within the team.

      4. Documentation & Reporting
        • Assist Technical Service Manager in investigating and preparing detailed service reports, failure analysis reports, test records, and customer communication following each intervention.
        • Maintain accurate records of service activities, issues, and resolutions in the service management system.
        • Provide feedback to product and engineering teams for continuous improvement.

      5. Safety & Compliance
        • Adhere to Eaton's safety policies and procedures, including PPE, SWMS, and electrical safety protocols.
        • Ensure all work complies with relevant Acts, standards, and customer site requirements.
        • Participate in safety audits, toolbox talks, and ongoing EHS training."

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
      "Proven experience supporting 3-phase UPS systems and/or DC systems (>= 5 years)

      Electrical License is prefered or a plus"

    Skills:

    • "Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for power electronics and battery systems.
      Experience with factory testing, commissioning, and technical training delivery.
