Engineer will be a critical player in helping Eaton deliver winning, profitable bids that have a clear scope of work with accurate technical and commercial commitments.
What you'll do:
This role will require interpreting the technical packages (drawings, specifications) to identify where Eaton's offers fit and to ensure alignment including agreed CDE's (Comply-Deviate-Exceptions) for all the technical aspects of a tender. It will also require onboarding of new hires and mentoring through their development.
This role will be based office based in Cairo, but support projects across Europe, Middle East, and Africa, so will require good communications and organization of work in order to serve a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders while meeting agreed time schedules.
This individual should be an electrical infrastructure "expert" who has worked in and around large projects and understands the types of challenges these present.
Supervise and mentor others
Analyze incoming technical RFQs (Request For Quotation) packages to determine Eaton fit (all possible products) and ability to meet customer requirements through the interpretation of tender documents and clarification communications with both customers and internal product support owners
Prepare / ensure Eaton offers that align technically with customer specifications
Ensure CDE's (Comply, Deviate, Exception) documents are complete and that the final Eaton offer matches technically the customer requirements
Coordinate with sales, applications, consultants, product owners, and the wider tender team such that Eaton bids are compelling and give the customer confidence in the offer proposed
Assist in preparation of costing as per standard process and tools
Support the development of and review offer documentation such that it is consistent with what is offered and the customer requirements
Ensure the specifications of equipment meets the customer's requirements and needs
Meet agreed timelines for tenders and keep stakeholders aware of progress, any constraints
Perform technical risk and opportunity analysis
Participate in the go/no go decision
Participate in the handover to the project execution team
Lead the tender reviews
Submit the quote (commercial and technical offer) in a high-quality manner to the customer
Qualifications:
Bachelor/Masters (BSc/MSc) Degree, or Equivalent in a related field (Electrical & Electronic Engineering)
Minimum of 10 years of engineering and design experience of electrical distribution systems networks with an Services & Projects business within large scale installation for Commercial & Industrial type projects.
Project Management certificate- highly desirable
Skills:
Data Center or similar critical power system experience strongly desirable.
Demonstrated experience supervising others directly or indirectly
Experience onsite execution- highly desirable
Strong technical (electrical) and problem solving skills
Proven track record of achieving objectives and solving problem
Strong collaboration and interpersonal communication and influencing skills
Ability to negotiate and drive alignment on technical designs
Customer / people management skills
Fluent English. Intercultural awareness.
A high level of personal integrity and ethics and commitment to "doing business right"
