    Position summary

    What you'll do:

    As a Software Configuration Engineer, you will support software-based projects across EMEA, working closely with Sales, Project Management, and Engineering teams from pre-sales through deployment and support.

    • Support Sales teams during pre-sales by helping define and clarify the technical scope of software solutions such as EPMS, SCADA, DCIM, and Energy Management Systems.

    • Contribute to the preparation of budgetary and binding proposals, including system architecture, topology drawings, hardware BOMs, schedules, and solution descriptions.

    • Produce, review, and validate engineering documentation in line with project requirements and Eaton standards.

    • Support software deployment and testing activities, including on-site work when required.

    • Work with Project Management and Sales to support scope changes, identify technical risks, and contribute to mitigation actions.

    • Collaborate with Eaton technical teams and third-party partners to deliver project engineering outputs.

    • Handle escalated Level 3 software support requests within the defined area of responsibility.

    • Deliver technical presentations and support customer meetings, solution promotion, and training activities.

    • Contribute to continuous improvement and standardisation of engineering processes and tools within the System Integration Services team.

    • Participate in ongoing professional development, including safety and technical training.

    • Travel as required for customer meetings, site visits, and project execution.

    Qualifications and skills:

    • University degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Power Management, Automation, or a related discipline.

    • Several years of hands-on engineering experience with power management systems, ideally within data centre or critical infrastructure environments.

    • Working knowledge of power distribution systems, including MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS, and EPMS / DCIM solutions.

    • Experience with power system automation software and energy or infrastructure management systems.

    • Basic knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, network infrastructure, IEDs, and control logic is an advantage.

    • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with professional working proficiency in English.

    • Structured, solution-oriented approach to resolving technical issues.

    • Ability to work effectively in international and cross-functional project teams.

    • Good prioritisation skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

    • High level of integrity, accountability, and a proactive "can-do" mindset.

    • Strong safety awareness, with the confidence to stop unsafe activities when required.
